Abstract

Cuthona behrensi Hermosillo & Á. Valdés, 2007, was described from a single specimen collected at Los Frailes, Azuero Peninsula, Golfo de Chiriquí, Panama on May 2003. Since then, there are no other records for this species. Recently (December 2021), one specimen of C. behrensi was photographed at Malpelo Island, a Flora and Fauna Sanctuary on the Pacific coast of Colombia. This
confirms the presence of this species in the region and becomes its second documented record.
