During studies of the crustacean fauna from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, a number of samples were obtained in March and July of 1991 at various localities south of Cartagena. A qualitative study of the samples revealed the existence of 43 species of amphipods, 25 of which (58%) had not been previously reported for this coast. A systematic list is presented as well as a description of the substrate where the species were found. The majority were collected from seagrass-bed habitats. Considering that sampling was limited almost exclusively to these habitats, the number of species found is high when compared to other areas in the Caribbean.Downloads
