A major area in the middle-south Pacific Colombian coast is dominated by mangrove bel in unstable soils of muddy-sandy bottoms. Upon these soft accumulations crustaceans of th Order Stomatopoda, known as "camarones bravos" can be found. Six species of the fami Squillidae are reported: Squilla aculeata aculeata, S. mantoidea, S. parua, S. panamensis, biformis and Cloridopsis dubia. Some areas of the same littoral have sedimentary rocky beach with origin in the Tertiary, that constitutes hard substrates where stomatopods of the fami Gonodactylidae as Gonodactylus festae and G. albicinctus can be found. In the Gorgona Islan there are also stable substrates , most of them of the rocky kind with coralline settlements, an some others less stable as the sandy ones where Stomatopods have been caught: G. zacae, G bahiahondensis and Pseudosquilla adiastalta. The report of G. a/bic/nctus enlarges the distrib tional range of the species in more than 1000 km. The characterisctcs of each species a accompanied with drawings and notes about coloration, habitat and distribution.Downloads
