Abstract

A taxonomic study of the ichthyofauna in the Málaga Bay is presented. 123 species of fishes from 84 genera and 49 families were collected in three different stations between March 1980 and March 1981. The majority species were Lile stolifera (Clupeidae) and Euconostomus caliionicnsis (Gerreidae). The families Sciaenidae and Carangidae have the greatest number of species. This paper presents the scientific and common names of the collected fishes, as well as their sizes and season of juvenile abundance.
