Abstract
In the Caribbean Sea, 22 species of spider crabs belonging to the family Inachoididae are documented. Through analysis of specimens obtained as bycatch from shrimp fishing in Ensenada de La Guardia, Margarita Island, Venezuela, the presence of Paulita tuberculata has been identified. This discovery is a notable addition to the decapod crustacean fauna of both Venezuela and the broader Caribbean region, consequently expanding the known distribution range of this species. The distribution of this species may be much broader than previously thought and may extend northward into the Caribbean region. Furthermore, certain morphological characteristics of P. tuberculata are discussed.
