Patrones de distribución espacial y estructura de la comunidad de nematodos costeros de la bahía de Chetumal, México

Resumen

Se analizó la distribución y composición de los nemátodos costeros en la bahía de Chetumal. Se recolectaron sedimentos en seis sitios por duplicado. Los nemátodos se identificaron al nivel más bajo posible y se clasificaron en grupos tróficos y categorías de estrategia de vida. Se determinó el Índice de Diversidad Trófica y el Índice de Madurez. En el agua se registraron la temperatura, la salinidad y el oxígeno disuelto, y en el sedimento se determinó el tamaño de grano y la concentración de clorofila a. Se encontraron siete órdenes, 18 familias, 42 géneros y 56 especies. Las familias Desmodoridae y Xyalidae fueron las más diversas. Anoplostoma sp. fue la especie más abundante, mientras que Stylotheristus sp. fue la mejor distribuida. La composición específica varió significativamente entre sitios y la comunidad estuvo influenciada por el oxígeno disuelto y el tamaño de grano. La diversidad de nemátodos fue baja en sitios
cercanos a la ciudad de Chetumal, mientras que los valores más altos se encontraron cerca del mar Caribe. De acuerdo con el ITD y el MI, los sitios cercanos a la ciudad mostraron condiciones ambientales de malas a moderadas, mientras que los cercanos al mar Caribe
mostraron condiciones muy buenas.
