Abstract
The geographic distribution of the sharpnose seven gill shark Heptranchias perlo (Hexanchidae: Hexanchiformes) is expanded for the Colombian mainland Caribbean, from three specimens caught with monofilament gillnets of 13, 10 and 9 cm between 80 and 100 m depth, in the area between Puerto Colombia and Sabanilla, Atlántico. Specimens measured 1000, 978-980 mm total length; and a weight of 3, 3 and 2.75 kg respectively; sharks from Puerto Colombia were pregnant females and the Sabanilla specimen a nonpregnant but mature female.Downloads
